Our Snow White ExoShield is a charming white wash loaded with the maximum amount of white oxide pigment possible. Mix it up well before application. A quick wipe on wipe off will give you a lovely white patina as opposed to a long 15-20 minute soak which will give you maximum penetration. Interior or exterior use are both fantastic. Standard maintenance cycles apply: 48+ months for vertical surfaces (as well as soffit, ceiling, and pavilions). Horizontal surfaces will show dust and dirt pretty quickly. ExoShield is a deep-penetrating tung oil finish for all hardwoods and softwoods, exterior and interior: decking, siding, fencing, furniture, paneling and more. It is made for dense tropical hardwoods such as Ipe, Cumaru, Batu, Red Balau, Meranti and Mahogany, and works equally well on Cedar, Redwood, Douglas Fir, Oak, Walnut, Hickory, Birch, Hemlock, Bamboo and thermally modified woods.
Coverage varies with the species and the age of the wood. One gallon covers up to 800 sq ft on dense hardwoods and up to 450 sq ft on softwoods. We plan jobs at 600 and 400 sq ft per gallon so you don't run short, and older, weathered boards take more.
