ExoShield Wood Finishes

Left bare, every exterior hardwood weathers to a silver-grey. That is a cosmetic change, not a structural one — a naturally durable species does not need a finish to survive. A finish is what holds the wood's original color, and on dense tropical hardwood it has to be a penetrating oil rather than a film: a surface coating cannot get a grip on a board this tight, and it peels.

ExoShield is our penetrating exterior oil, formulated for hardwood and softwood decking, siding, and outdoor furniture. It is stocked by the gallon in Clear and Natural plus a range of tones — Mahogany, Walnut, Black Walnut, Antique Bronze, Platinum, Snow White, and Total Eclipse.

Alongside it, ExoWax is a clear, water-based industrial end sealer sold by the quart, used on cut ends — the most absorbent face of any board — to slow moisture uptake and the checking that follows.
