Terms of Sale

Nova USA Wood Products LLC sells in two different ways, and the terms differ. Please read the part that applies to your order.

Online orders are the products you can buy directly on this website: ExoShield and ExoWax wood finishes, ExoDek hidden deck fasteners, and Rainscreen siding clips.

Quoted trade orders are decking, siding, and other wood products sold through our sales team on a written quote and acknowledgement. These are not sold through this website.

Prices shown on this website are in U.S. dollars and include ground shipping within the continental United States. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable.

Payment is taken at the time you place your order. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe; we do not store your card number.

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. If a product is unavailable or a price is listed in error, we may decline the order and will refund you in full.

Online orders may be returned within 30 days of delivery in resellable condition with no restocking fee, under our return policy.

The following terms apply to decking, siding, and other wood products purchased through our sales team. They do not apply to online orders.

Please verify that Nova’s sales acknowledgement and invoice correspond in detail with your verbal or written purchase order. Modification of the terms shown is ineffective unless signed in writing by Nova. Typographical errors are subject to correction.

Amounts past due are subject to a service charge of 1.5% per month, unless applicable law requires a lesser charge. In the event of default of payment when due, or any other dispute between the parties, the buyer agrees to pay all costs associated with collection, court, and attorney fees.

Product claims must be made BEFORE installation. It is our responsibility to provide a well-manufactured product, and your responsibility to confirm this before installing it. All material must be inspected for quality of manufacture, grade, and moisture content prior to installation. Industry standards allow up to 5% of a total order to contain manufacturing or grade defects.

Claims for shortages, damaged material, or grade quality must be made in writing within 10 days of receipt of material.

Moisture content claims must be made in writing within 3 days of receipt, with photographs of the moisture meter readings.

All claims must include clear digital photographs documenting the nature and extent of the problem. Nova requires photo documentation before engaging in any discussion of claim inspection or resolution.

Nova publishes written limited warranties for our decking and siding and for our QuickClip fasteners. Each warranty document below sets out exactly what is covered, what is excluded, and how to make a claim. The written warranty controls.

Registration is required. Decking warranties must be registered within 90 days after installation, and QuickClip warranties within 90 days of purchase, with proof of purchase from an authorized Nova dealer.

Hidden fasteners. Decking installed with hidden fasteners is not covered unless the pre-grooved boards are installed with Nova’s ExoDek QuickClip and finished on all sides with Nova’s ExoShield. Installation guidelines published on this website must be followed for any warranty to be valid.

Liability for our finishes is limited to replacement of the product when shown to be defective, and does not include labor or consequential damages arising from its use. It is the user’s responsibility to determine the safety and suitability of the product for their use.

Performance satisfaction is guaranteed for one year when the product is used in accordance with the label directions. Failure to apply the product as directed voids any and all warranties and guarantees. Because customer application methods and weather exposure vary, the guarantee is limited to replacement of product only.

We recommend an annual maintenance cycle for exterior deck stains. Darker stains tend to hold their color better than lighter colored stains. We do not recommend Clear ExoShield for exposed exterior use, especially in decking applications. Use Natural or one of our darker colors for all decking applications.

On vertical applications such as siding and fencing, required maintenance cycles are 3 to 5 years. ExoShield wood stains last significantly longer in these applications. For exterior soffit and ceiling applications, required maintenance cycles can be as long as 10 years.

Except as expressly stated in a written Nova warranty, the remedies described here are exclusive and are in lieu of all other remedies, express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, all of which are expressly disclaimed to the maximum extent permitted by law.

In no event shall Nova USA Wood Products LLC be liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages of any kind, including loss of use, revenue, or profits.

No installer, retailer, distributor, sales agent, or employee of Nova is authorized to change or increase the terms or coverage of any warranty.
