Our Batu product line is ideal for customers who want the rich classic look of Mahogany, long-lasting durability, and minimal maintenance efforts to upkeep the visual appeal of their decks. Consisting of only a few select hardwood species found within the Shorea genus, Batu (also known as Membatu, Red Balau and Mangaris) is known for its hardness, beauty and natural durability. Batu hardwood is carefully selected to achieve a nearly blemish free decking with excellent color consistency, superior strength, and natural durability.

In order to assure customer satisfaction, our Batu Decking is carefully kiln-dried and inspected before shipment by Nova's Indonesian staff at the source. Professional builders and do-it-yourselfers alike will enjoy working with Nova Batu Hardwood Decking because of its high quality and consistency.

Batu Decking is available in 1x4,1x6, 5/4x4, 5/4x6, 2x2, 2x4, 2x6, and 4x4 sizes and can also be supplied in handrail, 1x4 and 5/4x4 T & G porch flooring plus trim boards from 1x8 through to 2x12. Exotic Batu offers lengths from 8' to 20' and comes both yard-packed and pulled-to-length.

Bangkirai is an outstanding alternative to Ipe, Cumaru and Garapa. Also known as Golden Balau or Yellow Balau, Bangkirai offers outstanding strength, durability and hardness. With a 25 year warranty against rot or decay, and a reputation as one of the premier species of tropical hardwood from Southeast Asia, Bangkirai is immensely popular in Europe and is one the best choices for demanding use cases such as commercial and marine decking.

The appearance of Bangkirai is truly stunning. A balance of browns and tans make it feel somewhat like Cedar but in a wood species that is significantly harder and stronger. Shown above as exterior siding run to a rainscreen pattern and installed with Nova's patented ExoClad QuickClip system, Bangkirai blends beautifully with Portland Oregon's natural forests.

Nova's Bangkirai is available in standard decking sizes such as 1x4, 1x6, 5/4x4 and 5/4x6, as well as 1x6 patterns such as our 1x6 rainscreen siding.

Our newest tropical hardwood offering is South Pacific Redwood, also known as Torem. A super high density and extremely hard tropical wood from Indonesia, Torem is a close cousin of Massaranduba from South America. Both species are of the same Genus, Manilkara. The Indonesian variety, Torem, is heavy quartersawn, less prone to checking, and much more stable after kiln drying. This species weathers beautifully, developing a lovely silver patine over the years.

Our South Pacific Redwood, Torem is available in a superior mix of lengths, heavy to 12' and 16'.

Ipe hardwood is known as one of the very best hardwood decking products available.

We sell a full line of deck boards including 1x4, 5/4x4, 1x6 and 5/4x6; as well as accessories such as 2x2, 2x4 thru 2x12 and 4x4 posts. We can provide custom patterns as well as our Rainscreen Siding profile with works perfectly with our exclusive line of ExoClad Rainscreen Siding Clips.

We also specialize in direct shipments of deck boards from South America. Standard tallies are 30% max 8-10', with 30% minimum 16-20'. Our tallies generally run long with as much as 30-40% 16' and longer.

We specialize in sourcing Yellow Cumaru which is also known as Brazilian Teak. Cumaru is a golden to medium brown wood with similar strength and durability properties to Ipe, making it a more wallet friendly alternative. Our Cumaru hardwood is always kiln dried for stability, naturally durable, and carries a 25 year warranty against rot or decay. Finishing with a high quality penetrating oil finish is the best way to preserve the beautiful natural color.

Cumaru is available in standard decking sizes of 1x4, 1x6, 5/4x4 and 5/4x6 with stock points in the US.
