Ipe is an incredibly durable wood. Its dense cell structure serves as a natural deterrent to insects, decay, and molds. Because of this natural resilience Ipe is often the first choice for decking because of its almost unparalleled ability to stand up to the elements. More than just durable, Ipe is also very pleasing to the eye. Its heartwood is light to dark olive brown with contrasting yellowish-grey or grey brown tones accompanying it. With a Class A fire rating, Ipe occupies the same class of fire-retardant materials as steel. For durability, safety, and beauty, Ipe makes an excellent choice.

Select graded material will have a slightly wider color range than Clear. Selects will include the full natural color range of the particular specie. Select allows tight knots, burls, and a very few small open defects.

Ipe Hardwood Decking is the very best decking available. We stock a full line of deck boards including 1x4, 5/4x4, 1x6 and 5/4x6; as well as accessories such as 2x2, 2x4 thru 2x12 and 4x4 posts. We stock our full line of material in both Portland, OR and Tilton, NH; please contact us for details. We also specialize in direct shipments of deck boards from South America. Standard tallies are 30% max 8-10', with 30% minimum 16-20'. Our tallies generally run long with as much as 40-50% 16' and longer. We have partnered with a number of customers this year to offer kiln dried programs in Ipe decking.
