Nova's Douglas Fir 1x4 Edge & Center Bead is the classic ECB ceiling pattern — a bead at each edge and one down the center, so a 1x4 board reads as two narrower boards once it is up. Milled to a 5/8 x 3-1/8 face. Our ECB ceiling is graded CMG — clear mixed grain, C & Better. This is a beautiful pattern with a tight ring count, and it is what goes up on ceilings, porch soffits, wainscot and feature walls — a true old growth, fine grain Douglas Fir.
Our Douglas Fir clears are kiln dried for stability, so the material holds its dimension once it is inside and finished. We are happy to arrange final surfacing as required by many of our customers. Prefinishing and matching trim can be quoted with the order.
