Wide Five-Quarter Boards

Five-quarter stock in the widest sections we carry, where the thickness is doing structural work and the width is covering ground. The two uses that call for it are stair treads — a bullnose stepping board with a rounded front edge, thick enough to span its risers and take the concentrated traffic a stair sees — and wide rough-sawn cladding, where a textured face and a broad reveal are the point.

Stocked as a Standard-and-Better Batu bullnose stepping board, and as FAS-grade thermally modified Nova Ambara in a wide rough-sawn profile.
