Bevel Siding Pattern — Catalog

Nova offers a wide selection of bevel siding boards.

Bevel Siding

Bevel siding — lap siding, or clapboard — is sawn to a wedge in section: thin along the top edge, thick along the bottom. Each course overlaps the one below it, so the thick butt throws water clear of the joint and off the wall. It is the oldest wood cladding pattern still in wide use, and it works because gravity does the water management rather than a gasket.

Our bevel siding is milled at 1/2 inch in 6-inch and 8-inch widths, in Select-and-Better Batu (Red Balau) and FAS-grade thermally modified Nova Ambara, whose light weight and stability suit a lapped wall well.
