Welcome back to Nova Featured Products, the blog series that shines a spotlight on some of the most popular hardwood flooring species. This week we're taking a look at a more well-known exotic hardwood flooring variety: Acacia.

Acacia is a genus, or family of trees, encompassing approximately 1,300 different species. Acacia trees typically grow in warm climates but can be found all over the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. One of the most notable species of Acacia is Koa from the Hawaiian Islands.

In the wood flooring industry there are typically two types of Acacia available – small leaf from China and big leaf from Malaysia. Small leaf Acacia is heavily figured, has lots of color variation, and is similar in hardness to Hickory. Big leaf Acacia has a plain grain, a distinct yellow-green hue, and is noticeably softer.

Due to its unparalleled rustic beauty and increased durability, Nova USA only imports 100% small leaf Acacia. We currently have four colors available – Natural, Bronze, Tigerwood, & Rosewood – which we offer in a handscraped and/or smooth style. All of our Acacia products are solid and available in 2.8", 3.5", & 4.7" widths.

Please contact your Nova USA Wood flooring representative today to learn more about the high-quality Acacia hardwood flooring products we offer. We look forward to hearing from you!
